Privacy Policy
How We Handle Your Information
What we collect through this website, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Effective date: September 18, 2026. Last reviewed: September 18, 2026.
The short version. We collect what you give us through the contact form, by email or when you book a call, and we use it to reply to you and to do the work you ask for. We don’t sell your information. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs. The site sets no tracking cookies unless we turn on analytics or advertising measurement, and where the law requires it we’ll ask you first. You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, at any time.
Contents
1. Who we are
This website, rytley.com, is operated by Rytley (“Rytley”, “we”, “us”), a creator marketing agency based in the United States. Our mailing address is 410 Westhampton Way, Richmond, VA 23173, United States. For anything to do with your personal information, email hello@rytley.com. We are the “controller” or “business” responsible for the information described in this policy.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact form. Your name, work email address, brand or app name (and a link if you include one), what you need, your approximate monthly ad spend, timing, and anything you write in the message box.
- Email. Whatever you include when you email us, and the details of our correspondence.
- Booking a call. When you book through our scheduling page (run by YouCanBook.me), you give your name, email address and any notes. That page collects the information on our behalf under YouCanBook.me’s privacy policy and sends the booking to us.
- Working with us. If you become a client, or a creator we work with, we collect the business and contact details needed to run the work, invoice and pay, and keep records. Those relationships are governed by a separate written agreement.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Our hosting provider, Netlify, records standard technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type, the pages requested, referring page, and the date and time. This is used to run the site securely and to spot abuse.
- Currency preference. If you switch prices between USD and GBP, we remember that choice in your browser’s local storage. It never leaves your device and it isn’t a cookie.
- Analytics and advertising measurement (only if switched on). See Cookies and tracking below.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information (such as health, financial account, precise location, or government ID numbers) through this website. Please don’t send it to us.
3. How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote and, if you go ahead, deliver the services you ask for.
- To run, secure and improve the website, and to understand which pages and campaigns bring people here.
- To measure whether our own advertising works, if advertising measurement is switched on.
- To keep records we need for accounting, tax and legal purposes.
- To send you information about our services if you have asked for it. We don’t send newsletters, and you can tell us to stop at any time.
Where UK or EEA data protection law applies, our legal bases are: your consent (analytics and advertising cookies); performance of a contract or steps you ask us to take before one (replying to enquiries, quotes, delivering services); our legitimate interests in running and protecting the site and promoting our business, balanced against your rights; and compliance with legal obligations.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade it. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers that process it for us under contract: Netlify (website hosting and contact-form handling, United States); YouCanBook.me (call scheduling, United Kingdom); our email provider; and Google (analytics and advertising measurement, only if switched on, see section 5). They may only use the information to provide their service to us.
- Professional advisers such as accountants, lawyers and insurers, where needed.
- Legal reasons. If required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect our rights, safety or property, or those of others.
- Business transfers. If Rytley is sold, merged or reorganized, your information may transfer to the new owner under the same protections.
If advertising measurement is switched on, Google may collect information about your visit and combine it with information from other sites and apps under its own privacy policy. That is the only third-party tracking on this site, and you can decline it. See section 5.
5. Cookies and tracking
This site does not use cookies for tracking unless we switch on analytics or advertising measurement. When we do, we will show a notice with a choice to accept or reject, and the following applies:
| Type | What it does | Provider | Your control |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Serving the site securely. No cookies of our own; our host may set short-lived security cookies. | Netlify | Can’t be switched off; they don’t track you. |
| Preferences | Remembers your USD/GBP choice in local storage on your device. | Rytley | Clear your browser’s site data. |
| Analytics | Which pages are visited, how people arrive, roughly where from. IP addresses are truncated. | Google Analytics | Reject in the cookie notice or Cookie Settings; the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. |
| Advertising measurement | Tells us whether an enquiry came from one of our ads, and may be used to show our ads to people who visited the site. | Google Ads | Reject in the cookie notice or Cookie Settings; Google Ads Settings. |
Cookie Settings. When tracking is switched on, a “Cookie Settings” link appears in the footer of every page so you can change your choice at any time.
Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to reject analytics and advertising cookies and to opt out of any “sharing” of your information for targeted advertising.
Do Not Track. There is no common industry standard for “Do Not Track” browser signals, so this site does not respond to them. Global Privacy Control, above, is honored.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so won’t stop the site working.
6. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don’t lead to work: deleted within 12 months of our last contact.
- Client and creator records: for the length of the relationship and afterwards for as long as accounting and tax rules require (generally up to seven years in the United States).
- Contact-form submissions stored by Netlify: we delete them from Netlify once they’re copied into our own records, and in any case within 12 months.
- Server logs: kept by Netlify for a short period (typically 30 days) for security and operations.
- Analytics data (if switched on): retained in Google Analytics for no more than 14 months.
7. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are encrypted in transit and stored by our hosting provider with access limited to us. We use reputable providers with their own security programs, and we limit what we collect to what we need. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can’t promise absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects you where the law requires it.
8. Your rights and choices
Whoever you are and wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct anything that’s wrong;
- delete it;
- stop using it for a particular purpose, including marketing;
- explain how we’ve used it.
Email hello@rytley.com. We’ll respond within 30 days, and within any shorter period the law requires. We may need to confirm you are who you say you are before acting on a request, and we won’t treat you differently for making one. If you’d like someone to make a request for you, they’ll need your written permission.
9. California residents
This section supplements the rest of the policy for California residents. The California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended) applies to businesses above certain size thresholds; Rytley does not currently meet them, but we honor the rights below for California residents regardless.
- Categories of personal information we collect: identifiers (name, email, IP address); commercial information (enquiry details, services you ask about); internet activity (pages visited, if analytics is on); professional information (your company or brand and role); and inferences drawn from the above about the services you may need. Sources: you, your device, and our service providers. Purposes: those in section 3.
- Sale and sharing. We do not sell personal information and have not done so in the preceding 12 months. If advertising cookies are switched on and you accept them, Google’s advertising cookies may amount to “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can opt out by rejecting cookies in the notice, using Cookie Settings, or sending a Global Privacy Control signal, which we honor.
- Your rights: to know, to access, to correct, to delete, to opt out of sale or sharing, and to non-discrimination. We don’t use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would give rise to a right to limit.
- Shine the Light. We don’t disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing.
Exercise any of these by emailing hello@rytley.com.
10. UK, EEA and other international visitors
We work with brands and creators in the United Kingdom as well as the United States, so if you’re in the UK or the European Economic Area, the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to how we handle your information. Your information is processed in the United States, where data protection laws differ from those at home. We protect it as described in this policy and rely on the safeguards available under those laws for any transfers to our providers.
Under those laws you have the rights in section 8 plus the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent (for example, to cookies) at any time without affecting what happened before. We don’t make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you. If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to your data protection authority: in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We’d appreciate the chance to sort it out first.
11. Children
This site is for businesses and is not directed at children. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we’ll delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we’ll update the effective date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information you’ve already given us, we’ll post a notice on the site and, where we have your email, tell you directly before it takes effect.
